A backflow prevention device is used to protect water supplies from contamination or pollution. Backflow prevention protects the potable water system from minor, moderate, and severe hazards. There are over 10,000 reported cases of backflow contamination each year. Some cases can be fatal.

The service involved in maintaining backflow devices can be both time consuming and costly. The State of New Jersey requires that all backflow prevention devices be checked periodically. Double Check Valve Assemblies require annual testing and Reduced Pressure Zone devices are required to be tested quarterly. A physical inspection is required annually on certain devices.

Allied Meter Service, Inc. seeks to minimize costs with a complete backflow testing and repair service. The Allied staff is both factory and field trained. Our service department is prepared to test, clean, inspect, and, if necessary, repair your backflow devices. All staff members are certified by the New England Water Works Association and are members of the American Backflow Prevention Association. The staff is experienced in the testing and repair of all types of backflow devices.

Allied Meter Service tests and/or services most Backflow devices including Watts, Wilkins/Zurin, Ames, Febco, Hersey, and others. We have been certified and licensed backflow device testers for over 15 years.
